The Experiment
Autonomous Resistor® is an experiment created by us 'Pleasure Addicts®' ( a U.K based band ). We're NOT pop-culture aligned. We are Independent. The main purpose of The experiment is to develop our own music independently.
Real Independence
The Autonomous Resistor sites have been designed & built from scratch and are maintained by us. Our music is written, performed, recorded and produced by us. The artwork & photography on the sites & embedded in our MP3 products?....Yep, you guessed it, it's all done by us independently.
Who's Not Involved
The main objective is to try and develop 'Pleasure Addicts®' the sites, and selected OTHER independent artists without involving signing-up and the inevitable; exploitation; 'musical' directing; money-'men'; middle-'men'; image consultants; lawyers; sharks; and 'rip-off' merchants. Basically, we don't wanna-be "manufactured", courtesy of the big labels & the corporate suits. And we definately dont-wanna-be given away as part of an intercorporate marketing/advertising deal - Free with a packet of smarties. We prefer to give it away at OUR discretion
The thing is, even if the experiment only allows Autonomous Resistor, Pleasure Addicts and a selection of independent artists to make a living- then it will be a success, this is not about making it big. It IS about the music; the artwork; the design, the layout & useability presented and delivered by and in this websites' content.
What's Here Now?
Currently we've produced 3 tracks now accessible and downloadable in Lo-FI MP3 (free/gratis/libre) format. Hi-FI MP3 (not-so-free) format is coming very soon and incorporates a substantial amount of album-art.
The Hi-FI MP3 'not-so-free' format is what we've been working on more recently website-wise and IS a new way to buy and download music. Whats more it uses W3C standard technology, so you dont have to download any additional code from us to do it!

- We aim to make a difference both musically AND with the DOT ORG part of our operation. Once we get it off the ground.
ALL pictures, artwork, music and articles on our Key sites are original and credits are ALWAYS given to the originators.

Access
The majority of the site is open to anyone with an internet connection. We are providing free play and download access to all LO-FI Pleasure Addicts MP3 released works. LO-FI access is non-excluding but is of a lower reproductive quality! (we would prefer that you download, as it keeps our band-width costs lower).
Our MP3 ID3v2 member area minimises the number of user mouse clicks required to download our current HI_FI catalogue.
Browser Compatibility
We're just nowhere near rich enough to write or program reams of code and fixes to make good the ignorance (and arrogance) of substantially non-W3C compliant browser 'manufacturers'.
